Microsoft currently doesn’t allow Windows 11 Home edition installation without a Microsoft account. However, users found many ways to bypass this requirement, here we are going to look at those.
Install Windows 11 Home with Local Account
Method 1: Disable your internet connection
You can install Windows 11 Home by disabling the internet in your device when installing. Below are step by step processes for using this method.
- Proceed, installation wizard, until you have to enter your email address.
- Deactivate your internet connection.
- Switch to the previous window by clicking back (on the arrow).
- Try to move one step forward again.
- You will now see the option to create a local Windows account.
Method 2: Using a wrong email address
This method works by entering a wrong email address that doesn’t actually exist. Steps are mentioned below.
- Like the first method, Proceed, installation wizard, until you have to enter your email address.
- Now enter any made-up email address.
- Then you enter any associated password.
- In the next window, the wizard checks the entries.
- Since these are incorrect, an error message appears and you can now enter a username and password for a local Windows account.
Note: You may have to generate an incorrect login several times for the whole thing to work.
Method 3: Using shortcut keys (Easiest method)
In my opinion, this is the easiest method. Steps are mentioned below.
- Proceed, installation wizard, until you have to enter your email address.
- Press Ctrl + F4 shortcut key
- Now you will see the option to create a local account.
- You may need to press the same key combination at another step of the installation wizard.
