MediaTek has finally unveiled its flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G. The chipset brings many world’s first features. It is the most powerful chipset we have seen by MediaTek yet. The chipset is even more powerful than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset. There are many smartphones that are roaming around the corners and not too far from getting launched. The chipset will reportedly compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G Processor
Talking about the chipset, it brings many world’s first features. It’s the world’s first chipset that comes with Cortex X2; the most powerful chipset by ARM yet. For CPU, it has four high-performance cores: 1X Cortex X2 clocked at 3.05Ghz and 3X Cortex A710 clocked at 2.8Ghz. It has 4X Cortex A510 clocked at 1.8Ghz as power efficiency cores. The graphics and gaming part is handled by Mali G710 GPU. Let’s talk about the upcoming smartphone which will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset.

Mediatek has said that four OEMs: Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, and Honor will unveil Dimensity 9000 powered phones in Q1 2022. Oppo has also confirmed the next Find X flagship (Find X5 Pro?) will be using this chipset. Xiaomi VP and General Manager of Redmi Lu Weibing hints that the Redmi K50 series will adopt the Dimensity flagship chipset.
OnePlus Nord 3
The first smartphone on the list is the OnePlus Nord 3 5G smartphone, which will be released later this year. The OnePlus Nord 3 will be the company’s next value flagship smartphone. It could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G chipset. However, we don’t have much information about the device as of yet. However, specifications such as an AMOLED 120Hz display and a 5000mAh battery with 65W fast charging are expected. We’ll have to wait for more leaks to discover more about the device.
Poco F4 GT
The Poco F3 GT, the company’s most expensive smartphone to date in India, was powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G chipset. The Poco F4 GT, the device’s successor, is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G chipset. The device will be a gaming-focused smartphone with gaming-specific features such as RGB lighting on the back and more. Depending on the region, the device could be released under the Xiaomi or Redmi brands.
Realme X9 Max 5G
The realme X7 Max 5G was the company’s one of the great value flagship smartphones. The device will be succeeded by the upcoming realme X9 Max 5G. The X9 Max 5G is expected to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. Other lists of expected specifications include a 120hz AMOLED Display, triple or quad rear cameras, 4500mAh+ battery with 65W+ fast charging. We don’t have much information about the device yet.
Redmi K50 Gaming Edition
Finally, the upcoming Redmi K50 Gaming Edition smartphone will likely be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G chipset. The device will feature a high refresh rate AMOLED display, a large battery with fast charging, a premium build, and a good set of cameras. The devices are expected to be released in China later this year.
Also, it is worth mentioning that the first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G chipset can launch as early as late Q1 2021. We can expect the prices of the smartphone to be slightly on the higher side as Dimensity 9000 is a very huge jump compared with the Dimensity 1200 5G.
