Samsung is working on updating dozens of other phones and tablets over the next few months. Samsung is continuously pushing One UI 4.0/One UI 4.1 updates to various compatible phones and tablets. One UI 4.0/ One UI 4.1 is based on Android 12. One UI 4.1 was debuted with the latest flagship Galaxy S22 series.
Now we are talking about the One UI 5 update. Samsung will bring the One UI 5 with the Android 13 operating system upgrade to Galaxy devices. However, Google is rapidly working on the next major OS (Android 13) for 2022. Google has already introduced the Android 13 beta. So, Samsung is planning to unveil the One UI 5 update and the latest Android 13 operating system.
One UI 5 Update Tracker
August 15: Android 13 Final Build is Official. Sadly, the update is rolling out for Google Pixel smartphones only. However, Galaxy S22 series One UI 5 stable build based on Android 13 will roll out later this year.
August 5: Samsung One UI 5 open beta program is available for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra in the United States, Germany and South Korea. Open the Samsung Members app and join the beta program.
June 10: As per tipster Anthony, One UI 5 will bring a lot of improvements to things people have been complaining about. One of those things is animations. One UI 5 will also bring major improvements to optimization and an improved design overall. It will be the most consistent, smooth, and optimized Android skin. It will work seamlessly with the Samsung Ecosystem, including Galaxy Books and Smart TV.
April 12: As per Sammobile, the One UI 5.0 beta testing program may begin in July 2022.

One UI 5 Release Date
- Samsung One UI 5 update could be released publicly in November 2022. Reportedly, the One UI 5.0 beta program will start by July 2022. The Galaxy S22 series alongside Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Flip 4 should receive the One UI 5 beta update first.
As the One UI 5 will be based on Android 13 OS, the OS’s beta testing may start in August or September 2022. The previous Android 12 OS based on One UI 4.0 Beta testing also began in September 2021, while the official rollout happened in mid-November. The Galaxy S22 series devices will be the first to be invited for Beta testing of Android 13 based on One UI 5 ahead of the public release.
However, till now, no such official date has been announced for the release of the One UI 5 update. It will likely be released publicly in mid-November 2022. The Galaxy S22 series devices will initially receive the One UI 5 stable update. Later, the other Galaxy devices will receive the update.
Google has released the Android 13 Beta 3 for Pixel devices. Samsung users are still waiting for the first beta build.
One UI 5 Beta Program
You can join the One UI 5 Beta Program via the Samsung Members app. You need to sign in to your Samsung account and then access the “Registration for One UI 5 Beta Program” page (Currently not available, wait for the official announcement). Once you receive an OTA, head over to Settings and Install the latest One UI 5 update.
