Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S22 lineup globally, named Galaxy S22/ S22 Plus/ S22 Ultra. However, now Samsung Galaxy users worldwide are eagerly waiting for Galaxy S22 FE (Fan Edition) release. Samsung started releasing ‘Fan Edition’ smartphones in 2019, with the release of the Galaxy S20 FE. After S20 FE, they launched Galaxy S21 FE. So, the users are excited about the release of the Galaxy S22 release too. If we look back on Galaxy S20/S21 FE(Fan Edition), there might be another FE phone in a few months to look out for.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was their first Edition as FE, and it was one of the best smartphones of 2020. The main factor in this phone’s success was getting almost everything like other flagship smartphones at a lower price, although it did not have any incredible innovations. People like this smartphone for its flagship looks also.
But the Galaxy S21 FE didn’t get as much hyped as S20 FE because the Galaxy S20 FE was launched perfectly positioned between the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series. While the Galaxy S21 FE was released in January, just one month before the Galaxy S22 series was officially launched. It had a chipset (Snapdragon 888/Exynos 2100) that was already a year old with less RAM even though the price is the same as the S22. That might be the reason for failure.
Will Samsung launch a Galaxy S22 FE (Fan Edition)?
At this point, we don’t know if Galaxy S22 FE (Fan Edition) exists or not right now. Samsung hasn’t given any hints yet about the S22 FE. The last S21 FE was slightly disappointed but if it still sells well, we can expect the Galaxy S22 FE might come with some positive improvements. For now, we will have to wait and see what Samsung comes up with.
Samsung Galaxy S22 FE specifications and design
Assuming that Samsung will land a Galaxy S22 FE shortly, what could that phone look like, or what will the specs? Considering the previous Fan Editions, the phone might look like the previous Galaxy S smartphone. It will have minor design iteration on the Galaxy S22.
The camera of the S22 FE might decrease like the telephoto lens on the Galaxy S21 FE is lower than the Galaxy S21. The phone possibly will come with a plastic body. However, the internal hardware might be the same as Galaxy S22 regular edition with the same chipset.
All the models of Galaxy S22 FE will probably have 8GB RAM. But it’s uncertain about the return of the microSD card slot and headphone jack.
Galaxy S22 FE should come with a larger display size compared to the regular Galaxy S22(6.1-inch). Because if we look back to previous S20/21 Fan Editions, they came with a larger display size than their regular S20/21 editions.
Samsung Galaxy S22 FE Release Date
- The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 FE will likely be released in July 2022.
Samsung hasn’t confirmed if it will launch another Fan Edition phone. But based on the previous series, it seems likely can be released in the mid-July of this year though Samsung usually comes with surprises.

- The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 FE could be priced at $699 in the US. In the UK, the Galaxy S22 FE may cost £699. In terms of Canadian pricing, the S22 FE may start at CAD 949.
We don’t know anything for sure about the price of the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE, but we can expect it to be around the same price as the Galaxy S21 FE when it launched.
