You upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 but don’t like Microsoft’s new OS or does its bugs and crashes your computer? Don’t panic: it is possible to downgrade Windows 11 and revert to Windows 10 easily and for 10 days from the date of the upgrade. Windows 11 indeed offers a “Rollback” feature that allows you to easily go back to the previous version of Windows, in this case, Windows 10. Everything is done automatically and without risks: Windows 11 is removed and uninstalled, Windows 10 is restored, and all your personal files are kept during these operations.

Before downgrading Windows 11
Before you downgrade Windows 11, read this information:
- Applications and programs that you installed since upgrading to Windows 11 will not be restored. You will need to reinstall them after restoring Windows 10.
- Any changes made to settings since upgrading to Windows 11 will not be rolled back.
Finally, even if the rollback to Windows 10 is a simple operation, it is still recommended to back up your personal files before you start.
Uninstall Windows 11 and Downgrade to Windows 10
via Settings
If you still have access to Windows 11, you can downgrade Windows 11 and go back to Windows 10 through the Settings app:
- Open Windows 11 Settings.
- In System, click on Recovery.
- Under Recovery Options, click Go Back.
- Indicate the reason why you want to revert to Windows 10 and click Next.
- To the question “Check for updates”, answer by clicking on No thanks.
- The next screen informs you of the consequences of reverting to Windows 10. Read the information, then click Next.
- The next screen asks you to be careful if you have changed your user account password since upgrading to Windows 11. If so, make sure you know your old password. Click on Next.
- Finally, click on the Return to Windows 10 button to start the downgrade and roll back to Windows 10.
- Your computer restarts and a black screen appears with the message “Restoring your previous version of Windows”.
- Wait while Windows 10 restores. This operation takes more or less time depending on the performance of your computer.
- Once Windows 10 has been restored, go through the lock screen and then sign in with your user account.
- Your Desktop appears, it’s done: you’re back on Windows 10!
via Advanced Boot Options
If you no longer have access to Windows 11, you can downgrade Windows 11 and revert to Windows 10 through Advanced Boot Options:
- Open Advanced Boot Options.
- Click on Troubleshoot.
- Click on Advanced options.
- Click Uninstall updates.
- Click Uninstall the latest feature update.
- Click the Uninstall Feature Update button.
- Your computer restarts and a black screen appears with the message “Restoring your previous version of Windows”.
- Wait while Windows 10 restores. This operation takes more or less time depending on the performance of your computer.
- Once Windows 10 has been restored, go through the lock screen and then sign in with your user account.
- Your Desktop appears, it’s done: you’re back on Windows 10.
