On October 15, 2021, Microsoft began the stable public rollout of the newly announced Windows 11. The first significant update to Windows 11, codenamed Windows 11 22H2 (Sun Valley 2), is expected to be released in the early months of 2022. Because this is a major update, it will include numerous changes to the user interface, new features, improved system stability, and much more. The company has already begun to shed light on the upcoming Windows 11 22H2 update. It confirms the features of the upcoming update, either directly or indirectly.
Windows 11 22H2 Features
A few sets of features are already available to Windows Insider Program users, specifically Devs via Pureinfotech.com. However, there will be some add-ons on the Windows 11 22H2 stable update as well. So, in this post, we’ve covered all of the upcoming features of the upcoming update. To learn more about it, continue reading until the end of the article.
1. Improved Start menu
Beginning with the Start menu, it was redesigned in Windows 11 and has since been enhanced and retouched. You can now choose between three different layouts: More Pins, Default, and More Recommendations. You can further personalise it by using the various options available in the settings. The “More pins” button only displays a single row of items and allows you to display more pins to elaborate on the features.
The “Default” option displays three rows of recommended items and three rows of pin items, while the “More Recommendations” option displays two rows of pins and three rows of recommended items. Furthermore, the power menu’s quick access button now includes a new option called “Sign-in options.” In the “All apps” list, the “Windows Easy of Access” folder has been renamed “Accessibility.”
2. Improved Taskbar
The clock will now be visible on all connected monitors. More changes have been made to the taskbar’s quick access toggle and icons. However, no significant changes have been observed as of yet. The Task View (Alt + Tab) experience in the Taskbar now displays Snap groups, allowing users to switch between snap groups quickly. In addition, when you launch Task View on a system with multiple monitors, the background should now be acrylic on both monitors.
3. Printers & Scanners
Users can now get more details about the connected printer or scanner on the settings page.
4. Sound Page
A new privacy option called Microphone privacy settings has been added under the Sound page.
5. Display page
Windows 11 had rounded corners supported by default on all applications or for floating windows. In the upcoming update, you can now select between regular-sided corners or rounded corners under the Display page.
6. File Explorer and Desktop
Users will now be able to copy the file’s path address by using the Ctrl+Shift+C shortcut. The show more option has now been converted to new padding that appears when you right-click on a file or folder. The UI has undergone minor changes. The latest version restores the desktop Recycle Bin’s modern right-context menu, missing in Windows 11.
7. Touch experience changes
When you open any app in the current version, it either opens in full-screen mode or in your previously set position. However, starting with the upcoming update, Windows 11 will launch apps optimised for table posture by default for small devices with a screen diagonal of 11 inches or less.
8. Narrator
The Narrator has been enhanced further in the following update. Because the Narrator scan mode now turns off faster, the company has made it easier to type in edit fields such as the address bar. After a character is deleted, the Narrator will now read the character at the cursor position.
9. Bluetooth
If you have turned on Bluetooth while being on the AirPlane mode, the Windows will now remember it, and when you do so the next time, the radios will reflect your preferences.
10. Advanced sharing settings
The Advanced Sharing Settings have been moved to the Network and Internet option. The page has been redesigned a little bit.
11. Additional pages
Apart from the pages mentioned above, a set of pages has been redesigned and has some major to minor changes here and there.
- Touch page
- Themes Page
- Taskbar Page
- Touch keyboard page
- Installed App page
- Advanced app settings page
- Default App page
- Your Microsoft account page
- Language and region page

12. Input changes
The firm has provided further additional options using which you can customise the Windows touch keyboard.
13. Focus Assist
You will now get various options to automatically turn on the Focus Assist, like For the first hour after the Windows feature update.
14. System Changes
Aside from that, many system changes have been implemented. For example, the dot animation on startup has been replaced by a progressive ring animation. Starting with version 22H2, Windows 11 includes new SMS compression algorithm changes that ensure that the file will always attempt to compress during a network transfer if compression is requested.
